FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take my dental insurance?

We pride ourselves in helping each and every patient with a dental benefit plan maximize their benefit each year. While we are not “in-network”, we do file claims for patients, and even have our doctors write custom letters to insurance companies to help patients receive the maximum benefit possible.

Why are you not in-network with any dental benefit plan?

Believe it or not, we believe that remaining out-of-network provides a great benefit to patients. Our practice model allows us to provide our patients with more face-to-face time with Dr. Jewell and Dr. Bowers, and spend more time on things like patient education. We aim to create an environment where every patient that we see feels like he or she is the most important person in the world when they are with us.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by cash, check, VISA, Mastercard, American Express and CareCredit.

What can I expect at my first visit?

First and foremost, you can expect to be greeted by a warm and welcoming team that is happy that you have entrusted us with your care. A typical first visit at our office is a 90-minute appointment where our team will get to know you, answer any questions that you have, then one of our dentists will spend time listening to any concerns you have about your oral health before conducting a thorough comprehensive exam. Part of this comprehensive exam is determining what type of treatment is appropriate to help you maintain healthy gums. For most people, this is a routine dental cleaning, which one of our expert dental hygienists would complete at this visit.

What if I haven’t been to the dentist in a long time?

We believe the most important step a person can take is the next one. Whether it’s been six months or many years since you last saw a dentist, we are happy that you’ve taken the next step in improving your oral health. At our office, we never scold or make any patient feel badly for having a lapse in dental care. Instead, we’ll celebrate the fact that you’re with us today, and we will help you understand the options available to you to meet your oral health goals.

What do I bring as a new patient?

Please bring your insurance card upon your first visit. You much also fill out our New Patient Registration, Medical History, Financial Policy, Privacy Policy and Authorization forms. To speed up the new patient process you can complete the forms ahead of time and bring them to your appointment. You can get to our forms by going to the Patient Forms page.

How does your office protect my safety when it comes to cleanliness, COVID-19 and my personal information?

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we implemented additional safety measures to keep patients in our office safe from the spread of disease. We installed new HVAC units for our operatories with UV filtration, creating negative pressure rooms. Additionally, the glass doors that were installed with this new system further protect patient priacy when having important conversations about their oral health.
