Wilson O. Jewell, DDS
Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Wilson Jewell is a native of Wilmington, NC. He earned his BS in Zoology from NC State University in 1991 and subsequently achieved his DDS from UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 1995. He followed his father, Smitty Jewell into the dental profession where they were able to celebrate 25 years of practicing together until Smitty’s retirement in 2020.
Dr. Jewell has faithfully served his profession at the national, state, and local level. Wilson has functioned as president of the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society (2000-2001) as well as the North Carolina Dental Society in 2012. He continues to serve as a Board of Trustees member for the Fifth District Dental Society as well as serving as a NC ADA delegate. Wilson is a proud fellow of the American College of Dentists as well as the International College of Dentists and has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry since he was in dental school.
Dr. Jewell has maintained his belief in continuing education by attending the L.D. Pankey Institute. He strives to provide the best care possible for his patients by learning about current advancements in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Jewell represented his profession in his community by serving on the New Hanover County Board of Health and as an advisor to Cape Fear Community College in both dental hygiene and dental assisting programs. Wilson is also a member of the Wilmington Cape Fear Rotary Club.
Wilson is married to his high school sweetheart, Christy. They are the proud parents of two wonderful children. Outside of the practice, Dr. Jewell enjoys being on the water fishing. He loves playing golf, traveling with Christy, and supporting his beloved Wolfpack.
